I'm TIFFANI CORTEZ and I Think Like an Engineer
I'm Tiffani Cortez and I am the Technology & Engineering instructor at Harmony Science Academy in Waco, TX. HSA-Waco is a 8 year T-STEM Academy and part of the Harmony Public Schools system.
2014-2015 was my 5th year as a teacher. I have been at Harmony for 4 years. I taught Architecture and Construction my first year at University High School in Waco. I've been trained to teach the Infinity Project, Engineering by Design, and Engineer your World curriculums. You can find more about those curriculums here on my website. In addition to teaching, I head up the Robotics Department of the school. We had 10 teams this past year and I coached 5 of them. I've coached B.E.S.T., F.T.C., and F.R.C.. I am also in charge of hosting a, now annual, F.L.L. qualifier at our school. I am also the advisor to both NJHS and NHS for the school and I started a new STEAM club for our high school females called Girlz Gone Geek. I was also our STEM and Project coordinator for our school last year. I have presented at TCEA and T-STEM Conferences on Robotics and the engineering curriculum I instruct in. I teach the Autodesk and Adobe Suites to drafting students at ITT-Tech in Waco. I teach 3D Printing to both students and teachers at STEM camps each summer held by AggieSTEM at Texas A&M in College Station. I am extensively trained in Project Based Learning. I also participated in Texas A&M's E3 Program (Enrichment Experiences in Engineering) where I studying 3D Printing in the Systems & Industrial Engineering Department.
